Just noticed they are different weapons too, so dual weapons is looking like reality!

Is it just me, or is the first half of halo absolutely incredible, with the second half being a sorta-okay retread of the first half? I was blown away by how cool it was, having marines with you and riding around in that land rover thing--and then the marines are gone, the levels all look the same, and, well, i didnt finish it. I heard the multiplayer was awesome, though. Has anybody played it? Is the xbox live version supposed to be similar? What changes wer made (other than the dual gun thing, which is awesome)?

Multi-player HALO goodness is second only to acts performed only by professionals and married women. Well, one married woman that I am lucky enough to know, at least.
HALO is the only game for Xbox (or in my opinion, to my knowledge, any other platform) that performed the solo campaign, coop mode in the solo campaign, split-screen multi-player alternate gaming modes, and system link multi-player alternate gaming modes (ALL WITH VEHICLES) and did each well. The only way to improve on HALO would be to make it LIVE enabled, which HALO2 will do.
The second half of the campaign did get to be a bit of a grind, but if you play it in coop with someone it's a lot more fun. And I still think it was done well, just not as remarkably well as the first half. Some balance could have been applied - more vehicle action, perhaps.
I am a HALO fanboy - just had a LAN game at my house last weekend in which 5 of us played Crazy King on two big-screen TVs. Much HALO goodness ensued. Not bad for a 3-year old game. Name another.

There is NOTHING quite like MP Halo (cept for what WM suggests).
I can remember many a nights wasting my life away on Halo MP.
Don't know how versed you are on the Halo MP thing Aim, but in case your not very, here's what you need to do for a Gooooooood MP Halo game....
Create a custom game with "All vehicles", "CTF", and "Must have flag at base to score". Then load up Blood Gulch*. I musta played near a hundred games on that one map and it was fun every damn time! We used to get together with 4 xboxes and 4 projectors we "borrowed" from work. snif snif.... damn I miss that.
*If Blood Gulch gets old, try loading up "Frost" (Somthing like that it's called). Blood Gulch and Frost are the only 2 maps that support vehicles...

I agree with you; the second half of the game is very repetitive in every way, especially the "Library Levels" and the ones after... The final two missions bring back a bit of a challenge and gets your attention back to fun mode .
I think If I had play the game when it first came out, I'd have a different opinion; I still loved it though and cannot wait for the second one.
