I felt such a spaz. I was kinda nervous to play with everyone, but all you guys were SO great and didn't make me feel like an idiot! Well exept Frag but what else is new:).

I had SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN! Even though I sucked! I can't wait to play more! I am totally hooked, not just on the game but to all you guys too!!!

Mike, I was getting Server Full last night also, so I just started a room and sent invites to everyone and their brother to let them know I wanted to play; usually a few people will split from the full room when you do that.

Thanks. It only bothers me because if you (not specifically you) only realized how many times I have been right behind you and followed you around a map waiting to blow you up instead of easily shooting you....you'd realize how very little I stand still. I'm not saying that to brag either...I realize I get shot quite a bit. I'm saying it because I move around constantly.

Now, does that mean that if I see someone coming around a corner or through a window toward me I wont stop and get position on them? Obviously not, the point of the game is to eliminate your opponent. I've gotten good at seeing where a person is going and shooting (or blowing them up) when they get there.

Yeah, when I first started playing Rainbow I would camp because I didn't know the maps, how to switch weapons or even how to switch to my secondary weapon. Once some (non-LAG) kid took me aside and showed me how to play I put the fire out and took off.

I wouldn't be so offended if the notion of "camper" was assossiated with a compliment but it's looked at as being a dirty/cheap way of playing. I might not be so ticked if it weren't for two people saying it every time they mention my name in a post...but it happens regularly and although I've tried to be polite and ignore it or make a simple defense it keeps happening.

Dawn, the canister disappeared during a round. Our entire team stood outside your spawn and shot everyone for a few minutes. I reset the match shortly after that. I'm sorry for shooting you.

I think on some of the games you have to camp....I mean...you have to guard the satellites right? Its stupid not to....oh Ill just run around and let everyone take over my sattelites. The point is to try different approaches to break down their defenses and take it over right? (not that I ever do anything different..I just run into the room the same everytime with guns blazing into the floor.)

Now spawn camping dirty rotten and cheap and really messes the game up...thank god nobody in Lag does that;-).

Now in my case....camping is merely a survival function...which usually doesnt work anyway....Simplex has Cosmic seeking bullets.

If you run around like you are playing a typical FPS you might get one or two guys but you will take hits and more often then not be taken out by the next opponent.

...no bunny hopping in R6 either...which in my opinion is lower than camping

I agree with Cosmic (oh my, I better up my dosage) some of the game modes almost require camping. It only makes sense to try to protect your satellites.


I like to camp in dark corners where no one can see me. I don't try to shoot them though, because I will only miss and piss them off. Then they will kill me. :-(

No matter what you call it....Red is good at this game!!! There's no denying it. Blue and Kracker also are exceptional. I personally think that Red has become so good because he's able to log in many hours to practice (which I still don't know how you do it with three kids). But practice is what will allow anyone to excel at this game....just ask Terror..

Its called taking advantage of a tactical situation.
Ask some of the police laggers what happens if the bullets start flying,
do you start running around the building hoping to run into a perp? No you strategically place your men. Its just good strategy. In games that are more organized and the purpose is to win thats probably paramount. In our games, there are a lot of different ability levels...so you have to judge for yourself and ask,"how is my ****ing affecting the enjoyment overall game? If I'm ruining the fun for someone then I wont do it....but if by some twist of fate its just me and Red left (or anyone for that matter) then your damned right I'm ****ing" If there is someone that I am way better than, I might let them kill me or give them a good chase just to maximize the fun (that was hypothetical....if I ever find someone whos ass i can kick, I'll let you know;-)). Just remember why were here, thats my two cents.

I think that Tommy is just really good at the game. He has logged a lot of time playing it and has some really good strategies. As far as **** ing, he really doesnt do it. If you are on his team and you watch what he is doing , he is just plain sneaky. I know by watching him I have gotten better. I also know that he has followed me around for a long time in a game waiting for that perfect opportunity to pull that pin and blow my body across the map. A few guys that I started playing with pre-LAG were hyper sensitive to anyone ****ing. If you sat for more than 3secs, they'd be bashing you... they wouldn't tolerate it. I thought it was foolish to be so against it. Now, if you are down to 1 person on each team, you'd better not be standing still... you should be trying to win, not tie. While I don't want to perpetuate this... I think it should be stated that ****ing is not bad. It's not. To sit in one spot for the whole game, hey... whatever floats your boat. LAG is not the place to be worrying about how one plays. When I play, I don't care if I die, but if I have my druthers, I'd like to be the capper, not the capped. If that means, holding tight and listening for someone coming, that's exactly what I'll do. If I wanna run around and be the aggressor, that's what I'll do... I won't of course cuz I'm too much of a chicken. LOL

Anyway, thanks Tommy for speaking up... now people know it bothered you. But, let's also realize that the ****ing strategy can be a very good one. Let's remember that we don't hassle each one around here for how they play. Well, except for Kracker on corners in PGR2... but he brings that on himself. ;-)
