I was always curious about this game despite its bad reviews because well most people who review never really play the games anyways and "professional" reviewers suck.
Price: Less than $7 so cant beat that
Graphics: Ehh..not very good. Bland is what I would call it. The Levels are very very large which makes up for so so graphics. I guess the graphics are functional. The animation of the main character and the bad guy are well done.
Sound: Not bad. The sound of your weapons hitting is ok. Not going to win any awards, but nor does it detract from the game.
Control: Very Very Well done. You have complete control over the camera and the right trigger resets it to behind you.
You can carry 4 weapons at a time, the rest are stored in inventory (accessed via back button). You can have two one handed weapons equipped or one two handed weapon equipped. You can mix and match too so you could use a heavy wrench in the left hand and a sword in the right hand. X and B control each hand and you can come up with some wicked combos. A button is for jump and Y is for use.
I wish the main character would get up faster after gettign knocked down, but I guess if I got knocked in the head with a huge hammer I wouldnt get up quick either. A and X together gives you a running combo and A and B together gives you a weapon combo using your "magic" Each weapon has different weapon magic combos and the 5 heavenly blades each have their own.
Gameplay: This is your basic Beat Em Up game. You run around completing objectives in each level, beating up bad guys using weapons, combos etc. The story is moved along during cutscenes between levels. Its actually a decent story, kinda cliched at points but also has some interesting parts.
Some of the levels are very interesting...I wont spoil it for anyone. You meet characters along the way who will help out in the levels. You cant give the commands and they kinda suck at fighting but they will talk to each other during the level and you can let them fight cause they never get hurt.
The Heavenly Weapons are great and when you are fully powered up you can do some major combo attacks. The last boss is really tough and long fight...I am currently working on beating him.
OVERALL
This is not one of the better games on the Xbox. It is fun though and thats what really counts in the end...replay value is low. The price is very low and if you like the Old School beat up all the baddies games then you will probably enjoy this game.
