Now there is a really convenient way to pay for your football air and earn rewards all at the same time.
From Kotaku:
EA Sports and VISA have teamed up to put out a reloadable debit card whose purchases rack up "rewards points" redeemable toward video game purchases.
The prepaid card, announced Wednesday, "is a perfect marriage of encouraging responsible spending while providing a unique reward program," says EA Sports global marketing boss Todd Sitrin. Purchases accrue rewards points at more than 26,000 physical locations across the U.S., and more than 700 online retailers.

EA wants FPS leadership back |
|
Dec 03, 2009 - 12:01 PM - by KnickerBocker

"I'm not saying it's going to happen tomorrow, but in the way that Activision sort of alternates sequels of Modern Warfare and Call of Duty and owns the leadership position in FPS [first-person-shooter], between Medal of Honor and Battlefield, I want it back," EA CEO John Riccitiello declared in an interview with Kotaku. This means war.
With the Call of Duty franchise growing into a $3-billion juggernaut, it's no surprise to see EA looking to topple Activision's bulging beast and reap the significant rewards. According to Riccitiello, the newly rebooted Medal of Honor and March's ... [Read More]

EA Sports Sticks with Tiger |
|
Dec 03, 2009 - 9:12 AM - by KnickerBocker

Despite the recent happenings, EA (and all of Tiger's major sponsors) are keeping Tiger around.
However, despite further speculation that several of his lucrative backers might decide to withdraw their financial support following the admission, EA has told GamesIndustry.biz that its relationship with the golfer remains "unchanged".
"Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged," read a statement. "We respect Tiger's privacy, we wish him a fast recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the golf course."
The Tiger Woods franchise has been one of EA Sports' pillar products over the years, alongside the FIFA and Madden titles."
In related news, the final boss battle in next year's version of Tiger Woods is rumored to be Tiger taking on his evil alter-ego "Cheetah Woods" to see who can get it in the hole first.

"Do ya like dags?"

From Kotaku...The Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace pet shop opens tomorrow.
Depending on your opinion of the Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace, tomorrow brings either a wondrous new addition or another ridiculous thing to waste your money on - pets! Microsoft has most of the bases covered in its pet lineup, with three types of dogs (including Dog in Bag), three cats, birds, snakes, fish, guinea pigs, and of course, monkeys. They'll even have a pony up for sale, making countless childhood dreams come true with the push of a button.
The downside? Each pet will run you 240 Microsoft points. The upside? They don't pee on your girlfriend's robe, who then tries to cuddle you while wearing it because she has a cold and can't smell it, leaving you with the moral dilemma of whether or not ... [Read More]

Lawsuit-a-holic Erik Estavillo wants to bring Mr. Gates before the man.
Erik Estavillo -- otherwise referred to as a "professional plantiff" by GamePolitics for his laundry list of legal claims -- has subpoenaed Microsoft's Bill Gates in his suit targeting the company for his run in with the Red Ring of Death. According to court documents filed in a U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the subpoena demands Gates hand over paperwork that reveal the "true and relative number of actual Xbox 360 units that have been fixed by Microsoft over the past 3 years." Estavillo also seeks data pertaining to the number of broken Xbox 360 consoles and the amount of people banned from Xbox Live for "piracy" between November 28, 2008 and 2009. While this is a somewhat frivolous lawsuit I... [Read More]
